For artist Guillaume Linard Osario’s show There Will Be Clouds, I created a capsule collection of functional sculptures in dialogue with the paintings. The forms are inspired by the works of Johann Heinrich Füssli. Interpreting the ascension and descension of Füssli’s figures, I designed a stepladder, a standing ladder, and a chaise lounge.

The sculptures also function as seating, with the notion that sitting on steps is intuitive. We sit on steps and it becomes an intimate experience, either with a companion or by ourselves.

There Will Be Clouds is on view from Nov 10 - Dec 16 at Contemporary Cluster in Rome
